“Alsenoth,” Seth’s grey eyes were worn with concern, “believe me when I say that I’m sorry, but what you’re doing is completely irrational. We cannot risk the lives of thousands to help her. We don’t know, Alsenoth: she may already be compromised.”
Alsenoth’s eyes narrowed.
“I’m just trying to get you to understand what you’re asking, Alse. Are you willing to jeopardize the lives of an entire army for the sake of one soul?”
Emerald eyes gleaming, Alsenoth closed in on Seth—their snouts barely inches apart. “I have made the mistake before of turning my back on Kala and the pain that I felt was far worse than any soldier can ever imagine. Yes, you may be right; Wreaknatter may have forced her to give away our most precious secrets. But then again he may not have. Hell, Seth, she may have even read his mind with her Stimdärt abilities and gained invaluable information! But as long as there’s any doubt on whether or not she has given anything away—any chance that she is still alive—then I cannot and will not stand around doing nothing! I’ve made that foolish decision once already and now she’s gone! I won’t let that happen again!”
“Alse—”
“Seth, I trusted you; trusted that you’d be the one to lend me support!”
Seth stepped backwards, taken aback. “Alse, you know that I would. But the decisions you’re making are far too rash! You know how I feel about Miss Rööte, but your plan is murder!”
“No Seth. I’ll tell you what’s murder. The fact that Kala may very well be alive, may very well bet awaiting her death, and we’re sitting here doing absolutely nothing! The fact that not going to her aid could be the cause of her death! That is murder! So the question is, are you a murderer Seth?”
Seth sighed deeply, his eyes sagging slightly. And for the first time since he had known him, Alsenoth thought the general looked old. “Alse. More than anyone that I have ever known, you are a brilliant and intelligent individual. But the thing that makes you truly great is your loyalty and devotion to those you love. Someone once told me, ‘The question isn’t will we all have challenges? The question is How will we respond to them?’”
Alsenoth smiled.
“Alse. I have always given you my support. And although I still fear for the lives of these soldiers, I will stand by your side in battle like I always have.”
Alsenoth hugged his friend and stepped back, tears in his eyes. “Thank you. Thank you Seth. This means more to me than you’ll ever know.”
Seth gave Alsenoth a curious look and then gave a slight smile. “You’re sure she’s still alive, aren’t you?”
Alsenoth nodded slowly and started to speak, his voice barely above a whisper. “If she wasn’t, I would be in agony.”
Grey eyes on his friend, Seth grabbed Alsenoth’s shoulder. “Then let’s go save her.”

Just An Update

Wow. It's been a long time. I've been pretty preoccupied with work and with actually writing my book. the way things are going right NOW, I should be done before summer of next year. I'm a little less than halfway done, and I'm on a literary roll! Wish me luck!

Echo (Book Seven)

This has proven to be the most difficult plot outline to EVER write. It took me a couple of hours but the end result was well worth the time. Echo is probably one of the craziest book ideas that I have come up with and I hope that when it comes out, readers will enjoy reading it as much as I'm going to enjoy writing it.

Markus and the Slumanari Gem (Book Six)

Wow. It's been awhile. Well I have FINALLY completed writing out the plot outline to my sixth book in my eight book series, Markus and the Slumanari Gem. This book is probably going to be the longest of the eight, as it is packed with three separate stories and they are all full of action and suspense. The book follows the stories of Alsenoth, and Kala, Markus, Rajax, and Lech, and Regalon Reave. This story is probably my favorite and has some of the best moments in it. It has taken me forever to piece everything together, but I am satisfied with the end result.

Diseases And Disorders #9 (Balligra)

Balligra:
Balligra is a disease that spreads throughout the bones and causes them to be more dense. This creates a problem in particular for Sorgonic dragons, as most of their time is spent underwater. However the other species are able to cope with it well, the only set back being not able to reach high speeds or altitudes while flying. Balligra is uncommon, but not rare and is genetic in origin. Most dragons who have Balligra do not even know of it until they are actually diagnosed. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Balligra include:

Igriminta:
Igriminta is a disease in which the carrier is covered in severe rashes that eventually lead to internal bleeding. It spreads by contact, and networks all over the body. Although treatable, if Igriminta carriers do not receive help within two weeks of the first noticeable rash, it can possibly become irreversible and eat away at the internal organs. The disease comes from toxic fires, or fires that spew fumes from toxic plants. Dragons of importance that have been diagnosed with Igriminta include:

Diseases And Disorders #7 (Blastika)

Blastika:
Blastika is a disorder that occurs within the brain and causes the carrier to have enhanced perception and intellectual understanding. The carrier is able to carry a vast amount of intellectual power and they are extremely logical in their perceptions. The disorder does not damage the brain in any way, and it is up to the carrier how information is perceived. One of the rarest of disorders, Blastika does not cause any harm to its carrier whatsoever. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Blastika include:

Diseases And Disorders #6 (Cellic Regneva)

Cellic Regneva:
Cellic Regneva is almost the complete opposite of Moltima Viriscus. Rather than having rapid deterioration of skin tissue, Cellic Regneva is a disease where the cells within the carrier quickly build themselves up to the point where they can cause extreme harm. This disease often leads to imploding body organs as well as tumorous growths throughout the body. Although harmless on a small scale (in fact a benefit if only partially acquired due to its rapid cell reproduction that can heal wounds), Cellic Regneva is highly toxic and can almost certainly be called a terminal illness. Though not contagious, Cellic Regneva has been known to be canceled out if the carrier also possesses the disease Moltima Viriscus. This combination of rapidly deteriorating and reproducing cells creates a balance within the carrier that can help create a longer life expectancy, rather than the usual predicted lifespan of twenty-five years. Although this balances helps it does not stop the end result. Because of the constant eating and rebuilding of cells, the carrier's body will eventually fight off both diseases causing the organs to go into shock and shut down. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Cellic Regneva include:

Diseases And Disorders #5 (Moltima Viriscus)

Moltima Viriscus:
Moltima Viriscus is a severe disease that causes rapid deterioration in the skin cells. Usually found on the face of the carrier, it results in sagging and peeling skin. There have been incidents where the carrier has been known to lose their eyes due to the focus on the ocular area. The skin quickly melts away peels at the slightest touch. Usually starting with a severe rash, Moltima Viriscus is not easily spread. It is known to only be transmitted through constant contact with other carriers. Although Moltima Viriscus is extremely dangerous, it can be averted by using a mix of Firethorn berries and Saltwater Sap. Because of the rareness of Saltwater Sap, Moltima Viriscus has often been treated by death or quarantine in order to prevent further spread. However, there have been known subjects who carry Moltima Viriscus along with Cellic Regneva, a disease that causes extreme rapid cell regeneration. Although it is just as dangerous as Moltima Viriscus, Cellic Regneva can help to counter the effects of Moltima Viriscus when the carrier has been diagnosed with both diseases. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Moltima Viriscus include:

Diseases And Disorders #4 (Seclunis)

Seclunis:

Seclunis is a rare disorder that sets the carrier's mind into a desire and fixation to be isolated from society while still contributing in some way. This is caused usually by a series of traumatic incidents around the carrier's childhood, creating an overwhelming sense and desire to remain alone. Not necessarily considered a true disorder or disease due to the emotional causes behind its origin, Seclunis can be described has a highly irrational train of thought that often leads to a lesser form of Dementia. Seclunis has not been able to be defined in full, but research from the Royal Dragon Academy has proved to find newer and newer forms of Seclunis in young dragons who have risen out of orphan backgrounds. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Seclunis include:

Diseases and Disorders #3 (Symphonica)

Symphonica:
Symphonica should not be classified as a disease, but rather a disorder. In this rare case, the disorder does not degrade the carrier in any way, but rather amplifies their abilities. Symphonica occurs in early childhood, especially when the dragon was deaf in their infancy. It is a disorder within the ear canal that causes the carrier to become extremely perceptive to sound and or music. The carrier is able to do different things depending on the type of Symphonica. Symphonica Lyris has to do strictly with amplified senses that involve music. Symphonica Echnis involves strictly general sound perception. Finally there is Symphonica Versilis which is a mix of both types of Symphonica. The carrier can find perfect understanding of both pitch and harmony, perceive depth and feel slight vibrations, or do both depending on the strand of Symphonica. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Symphonica include:

Diseases and Disorders #2 (Dementia)

Dementia:
Dementia is a disease that is a result of too much genetic makeup in the cerebrum section of the brain. Dementia creates a strong bond and link with the first major emotional trauma or release of endorphins that occurs in the cerebrum and causes the carrier to be emotionally fixed and obsessed with one person or idea. Because Dementia only presents itself when the genetic makeup of the cerebrum is altered, it is most commonly found in dragons who are known to have Duplex Syndrome. The over compensation for lost genetic tissue for those who have Duplex Syndrome often creates an overage in the cerebrum that results in Dementia. Dementia is only curable when the carrier obtains that goal that has been fixated in their mind. This causes the genetic strand of Dementia to result in an over exertion and eventual deterioration caused by a massive release of endorphins linked to the fixated memory. Known dragons of importance who have been diagnosed with Dementia include:

SO this is the first of my "Diseases and Disorders" posts. Basically this is going to help you know about the things that cause harm in Tarterrior to dragons and what not. So here's the first one. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!

Duplex Syndrome:
Duplex syndrome is a genetic birth defect that happens when the baby dragon is conceived. The genetic tissue is harmed and tries to rapidly reinforce itself, causing an over abundance in the genetic DNA makeup. Because of this, the dragon is born with an overage of either limbs or organs. Although Duplex Syndrome is quite harmless, many who have been known to receive it have also been diagnosed with Dementia, a disease where the carrier becomes overly obsessed with a certain person or idea. The syndrome is quite rare, and usually occurs when giving birth to twins. However, there have been some cases of single birthed dragons who have Duplex Syndrome. Known dragons diagnosed with Duplex Syndrome include:

Species Of Dragon #9 (Creerish)

By far the most rare species of dragon, and a sub-species of the Flankerian dragon, Creerish dragons are almost a direct lineage from the ancient Creerian race. Rather than having leathery wings and skin like the other species of dragon, Creerish dragons boast beautiful feathered wings and actual visible scales for skin. There arms are longer than mosts dragons and their three talons are dangerously large and thick. Creerish dragons do not wield weapon tails, and their snouts are curved into a beak shape. Their large eyes give them an eerie look, and if it were not for the fact that they have the ability to breath fire, some would mistake them for the actual ancient Creerians. Ranging from ten to eleven feet tall (unlike their Flankerian brethren), and weighing between 390 to 415 pounds, Creerish dragons possess the powers of fire, paralysis, confusion, tremor, and screech. Their limited abilities are made up for in their wicked speed and strength. Not much more is known about the Creerish race, as there has almost been no sightings of them in Tarterrior. Known Creerish dragons of importance include:

Species Of Dragon #8 (Sorgonic)

This marks the first entry of the subspecies of dragon, so here it is!

Sorgonic Dragons:
Sorgonic dragons are a branch of Dryskinic dragons. Making their home in the underwater city of Sorgon, Sorgonic dragons are built for deep sea living. Rather than having sharp back spines and head crests like the other species of dragon, Sorgonic dragons instead have slender tentacle like tendrils that protrude out of their backs and heads. Their tails, similar to Dryskinic tails, are not built as a weapon but rather a sort of fin to help better propel their bodies through water. Although their wings are stronger than any of the other species, they are not built for flying, but for swimming. An average Sorgonic dragon is able to keep its body aloft for just over two hours compared to the normal six to seven. Built at an average of ten to eleven feet tall, and 360 to 390 pounds, Sorgonic dragon's slender and elongated bodies help to better them in their swimming. Able to project water, wind, pulse waves, hypnosis, paralysis, and confusion, Sorgonic dragons are the most limited in their attack patterns. Usually green, blue, purple, white, teal, yellow, or maroon in color, Sorgonic dragons are among the most rare species to actually see while visiting Tarterrior. Known Sorgonic dragons of importance include:

So this marks the last of the seven main species of dragon. After this, I will be posting the sub-species for my viewer's knowledge. Enjoy!

Trentic Dragons:
Found within the world of Tarterrior, but not found on the continent of Tarterrior, Trentic dragons make their home in their native country of Trentar. Usually brown, gold, yellow, dark green, or olive in color Trentic dragons are known for their height, intellect, and cunning battle tactics. Ranging from ten to eleven and a half feet tall, and weighing between 385 to 425 pounds, Trentic dragons appear to be massive in comparison with the other species of dragon. However most Trentic dragons are leanly built, and fail to be bulky in appearance. Able to run at high speeds, and hear with unmatched precision, Trentic dragons are decorated with two sets of razor teeth, one to four sets of sharp back spines, horribly hooked talons, and curved spines at the fold of their wing, Trentic dragons are known for their unique design in their tails. Many are built as a perfect weapon and, compared to the other species, are odd in shape. Other than their tails, Trentic dragons bear host to the power of fire, heat waves, water, vines, pulse waves, energy beams, black ice, poison, venom, paralysis, hypnosis, and even wind. Trentic dragons are the most diverse in their appearance, as their genetic code does not stay to one known structure. There are often Trentic dragons whose appearance does not match the above descriptions, and whose shape and size may entirely be different. Know Trentic dragons of importance include:

Redlin Dragons:
Redlin dragons are close relatives to Sapphirical dragons. One of the only two species of dragon known to be able to grow hair and fur, Redlin dragons make their home in the upper north of Tarterrior in Aradonta. Making their home in the Red Forest, where they get their name, the Redlin species have been known to have an amazing intellect in almost everything. Ranging from nine and a half to eleven feet tall and weighing between 380 to 400 pounds, Redlin dragon's strategic and uncanny minds help them to better their opponents in battle. Bearing one to two sets of teeth, one to three sets of back spines, heavy tails, multiple tattoos (especially around the eyes), and usually a large crown of spines on their head, the Redlin species is able to survive alone in the wilderness for long spans of time. Able to emit such energies as fire, heat waves, black flame, electricity, paralysis needles, hypnosis, dark energy, water, pulse waves, and shock waves, Redlin dragons are lethally equipped for battle. Known for their incredible craft in metal, many ancient and magical weapons have been found that can easily be traced back to the craftsmanship of the ancient Redlin dragons. Sapphirical Dragons:
Getting their name from the Sapphire Mountains in which they are found, Sapphirical dragons are considered an oddity in the world of Tarterrior. Their unique ability to emit ice energy is what sets them apart from the other races. Although some Royalic dragons have been known to harness this same power, it is only those who share a Sapphirical background who are able to do so. Sapphirical dragons are dragons built for attack. They are equipped with up to three rows of teeth, two rows of back spines, a hooked claw on their wing fold, jagged talons, and tails built to kill. Ranging from nine to ten and a half feet tall and 375 to 410 pounds, Sapphirical dragons are among the greatest in tracking and use of terrain. Their keen sense of hearing in particular helps them to better attack their enemies. Their typical shade of blue, grey, white, teal, purple, and green help them in their stealthy actions. There has also been subjects who have been known to have fur or hair, due to the cold climate of the Sapphire Mountains. Able to use ice, fire, heat waves, pulse waves, poison, hypnosis, paralysis needles, paranoia, and energy beams, Sapphirical dragons are a deadly force to be reckoned with. It has been realized that being brought up in the dangerous mountains has proved a vice in creating their stubborn and proud personalities. Many suspect Sapphirical dragons to be proud and loyal to a fault, even if they are the most wicked of the dragon species. Some significant Sapphirical dragons of importance include:

Royalic Dragons:
The most important species of dragon in the world of Tarterrior, Royalic dragons are distinct in appearance and capability. Ranging from anywhere between nine and ten and a half feet tall and weighing from anywhere between 300 to 390 pounds, Royalic dragons are strong in build and mind. Multicolored as they are, Royalic dragons all have a base skin color of white and are decorated with different colored "tattoos", or markings, over their body. The markings are usually delicate and intricate, but have been known to be bold and blatant as well. Royalic dragons are the most diverse of the dragon species, as some of them may or may not possess wings and back spines. Usually there is a difference in the male and female body build--the females tend to be smaller and possess no back spines, but they usually boast more intricate tattoos than the males. The males often have deadly hooked claws, a set of razor teeth, tails built for attack, and a jagged spike on the fold of their wing (along with the standard crest of back spines). Royalic dragons are direct descendants of the early rulers of Tarterrior and are marked by their bright white skin. Limited in number, Royalic dragons congregate around Tarterrior's capitol in Solazmendor and are either heirs to the Tarterrior throne, or servants to the throne. Their ability to harness such powers as fire, ice, wind, electricity, paralysis needles, hypnotic powers, heat waves, pulse waves, light energy, and water give them a huge and diverse range of abilities. The female of the Royalic species, although not equipped with as much power, have been known to carry deadly poison within the tips of their weapon-tipped tails. Although the Royalic dragons are limited in number, they are extremely detrimental to the goings-on in Tarterrior. Without their direct bloodline from the earliest of the rulers of Tarterrior the world would be left in chaos, for the ancient law that binds Tarterrior together requires their lineage. Royalic dragons have been known to have many mixed bloodlines that can be traced to other species, causing many of the dragons to be half Royalic, and half another type of species. Species Of Dragon #3 (Flankerian)

Flankerian Dragons:
Flankerian dragons are the oldest species of dragon. Related to the Flanker, Flankerian dragons are small and wingless in appearance but tend to have the most physical strength out of any of the species. Their keen sense of smell, vision, and hearing grant them remarkable perception in battle and help them succeed where they would otherwise fail. Flankerian dragons lack of wings and height comes form their evolution form the Flanker, a long living lizard-like creature that crawls on all fours. Flankerian dragons also have the longest life expectancy out of any of the other species of dragons. They easily adapt to their environment, and can adjust to situations in battle quickly. Flankerian dragons are very limited in number, and are almost extinct in the world of Tarterrior. However, mixed hybrids have been found in other dragon species. Flankerian dragons boast up to two rows of jagged teeth, horribly curved claws, simplistic tails, and wickedly sharp back spines (which may or may not fold across the back in order to create a sort of plated armor). Flankerian dragons are easily the most swift and agile on land, and range from eight to nine and half feet as well as 350 to 380 pounds. Their link to the Flanker race also gives them a sort of wild aura in battle and their ability to harness such attacks as fire, electricity, paralysis needles, poison needles, sulfuric flame, heat waves, pulse waves, tremors, and hypnotic power leave them a force to be reckoned with. Phoenical Dragons:
Like their Dryskinic cousins, Phoenical dragons are somewhat bland in appearance of color. Often found in shades of red, orange, yellow, purple, or brown, Phoenical dragons are very birdlike in their structure. Their snouts and jaw bones are narrow and pointed, and their wingspan is one of the largest of the different species. Due to their lean build, Phoenical dragons range from 370 to 390 pounds and are often found to be between ten and ten and a half feet tall. Their body structure consists of one or two rows of spines along their back, a tail used to defend or attack (often in the shape of a foreboding weapon), one to two sets of razor sharp teeth, long and crooked talons, and a set of wings boasting a jagged claw at the folding point. Phoenical dragons are somewhat less limited than their Dryskinic cousins in their available forms of energized attack. Known forms include: fire, electricity, poison needles, paralysis needles, heat waves, pulse waves, and occasionally hypnosis. The second most common species of dragon in Tarterrior, Phoenical dragons have been around for ages and are known for their keen eye, causing many of them to be trained as archers in war training. So here is my first post on the different types of dragon species.

Dryskinic Dragons:
The Dryskinic dragon is one of the two most common types of dragon species found in Tarterrior. Boasting one pair of wings, curved claws, jagged teeth, a long tail, and a row of spikes across its back, the Dryskinic dragon's closest relative is the Phoenical dragon. Dryskinic dragons are often bland in color--ranging from one to three different hues at the most. They bear no colorful tattoos or intricate markings along their body, and they often have a white stomach to help blend into the sky to those below while flying. Dryskinic dragons tend to have a rounded off snout, unlike their Phoenical cousins whose snout and face are sharp and pointed. Dryskinic dragons are plain in appearance, having no more than one set of teeth and back spines. Their tails, unlike other species, are used to help aid them in flying, swimming, and running, rather than attacking and defending. The second oldest species of dragon, Dryskinic dragons are knowledgeable in methods of using their surrounding terrain, as well as finding a perfect defensive resting spot for a home. Because of their simple nature, Dryskinic dragons do not possess any extreme methods of attack and are thus limited to such forms of energy as: fire, pulse waves, heat waves, paralysis needles, and hypnotic abilities. Dryskinic dragons also tend to be somewhat taller in height, while remaining lean, ranging from ten to eleven feet and weighing between 380 to 400 pounds. So, I am not sure how much people understand the characters in my book. Yes, they are dragons, but they are not your stereotypical kind of dragons. Dragons did not start off as gigantic mindless beasts of terror--in fact they started off quite the opposite. Dragons are in fact an intelligent type of creature that vary in species and size. Ranging from nine to eleven feet, dragons have the ability to project energies that may or may not include ice, fire, heat waves, paralysis needles, pulse waves, electricity, earth, hypnosis, poison, as well as other types of defensive and offensive qualities. Dragons are known as one of the only sentient beings within the world of Tarterrior, and are the most prominent as well. The species of dragon varies between the following types:

Sorry for not posting recently: I have been out of town. The poll I posted on whether or not I should post further chapter excerpts resulted in a negative, and I also had people tell me verbally not to. So I have decided not to, but to do further investigations and activities on this blog to fill in the void. Each chapter is getting progressively longer and is, thus, taking longer and longer to complete. I hope to be finished soon, or I will have to postpone my writings until a later time. Don't worry though, IT WILL GET DONE. This book is the second most important thing in my life (yeah, I know), so IT WILL BE FINISHED! It's just that other things need to be done before I am able to fully devote my time to my writings. Obviously I will ALWAYS be writing, t just will take longer to proofread, edit, and plan while I am doing other things. Thankfully, if that DOES have to happen, it won't be for awhile. Kala Roote And Alsenoth Ongeller

I found the perfect song to describe the relationship that Alsenoth Terris Ongeller and Kala Bae Roote share in the fifth and sixth books. Of course though, it is sung by Regina Spektor (one of the people I would like to play Kala). The song is entitled Dust To Dust (although the song Real Love is also EXTREMELY applicable to their scenario: listen to both of them) and can be found at the bottom of the page on my playlist (it is the second to last song on the playlist). Alsenoth and Kala go through huge mishaps that eventually lead to them hating each other at one point. They go in and out of this loop where they don't want anything to do with each other, to where they can't stand to be apart once again. In some senses it's kind of funny, but when the deeper meaning is understood it's horrible. I really love the relationship that they share in the books. The subplot of Alsenoth and Kala is probably the most interesting one (followed closely by Rajax's subplot and Chi-Chi's subplot). I get really excited when writing their scenes, because they flow more naturally than any of the other scenes that I write. That is why I write excerpts about them often to overcome my writer's block: it makes it easier to think when I write about them. I am not one for romantic writings, but Alsenoth and Kala's story is very touching when you read the whole thing, and it becomes a major subject by the end of the series. Their personalities are both stubborn and proud, which makes them very good to play off of each other. However, Alsenoth's timidness and intelligence, and Kala's boisterousness and naivety make them both quite opposite at the same time. That being said they both care for each other deeply. The only problem is how stubborn each of them is, making their situation quite difficult. At one point in the story (in a flashback) Alsenoth doesn't seem to care that Kala likes him because he is too focused on liking someone else entirely. So when Kala does the same thing to Alsenoth later, it drives him insane. The little quirks just make me laugh; they both learn from their mistakes (Alsenoth at one point almost gives up on everything because he can't live with how he "mistreated" Kala). The end of the series is shocking: it becomes the pinnacle of their relationship and something terrible happens. I tried to make these two characters more real than any of the other characters, because I wanted my audience to feel as if they were real life (even if they ARE dragons). I think that is why, other than Wreaknatter, these two characters are my most treasured creations. I just hope that everyone else loves them as much as I do. Like the second song I mentioned says: "It's real love". That's how I wanted their situation to feel like, and that's how I feel towards them. I hope that if no one gets anything else out of my stories, they get the importance of these two character's lives. That's all, I guess. Even if I feel like I have a BOATLOAD more to say about them. Based On Real Life

So in case you haven't gotten it already, I base many of my characters off of real life people. For example, Alsenoth Ongeller and Wreaknatter Drudlok are both representations of myself (obviously Wreaknatter being an extreme). The whole plot of the series revolves around Markus, Alsenoth, Wreaknatter, and Kala. Wreaknatter represents my past self and the way I was before meeting my best friend. Markus represents my transition from being Wreaknatter to becoming Alsenoth, and Alsenoth represents my coming to realization that there is something worth living for. Alsenoth's personality is very internal because he is trying to overcome flashes of his past that haunt him, but Kala is there to encourage him to blot them out of his mind. In this sense Alsenoth is an extremely troubled character, but there are definite flashes were he is courageous, strong, and fearless. I use him as a metaphor for the moon, and Kala a metaphor for the sun. This is due to the fact that whatever greatness Alsenoth shows is only there because of Kala. In the same sense, whatever light the moon gives off at night is only a reflection of the sun's own light. That is the connection that Alsenoth shares with Kala. Just thought my readers would want a little more insight into where I get my ideas from. Hope you enjoy! Thank you, best friend!

[“Are you sure you want to do this?” Alsenoth was trying to convince Kala otherwise.
“Yes, Alsey.”
“And are you sure that your room filled with light after you woke up from your nightmare?”
Kala gave him a look. The look, rather. It was funny how she was able to unexpectedly demand control with her eyes. She was two years younger than Alsenoth—thirty-three—and yet she was still able to make him feel smaller than her in every way. He knew he was fighting in an argument that he could not win.
“I just want to make sure, Kala. Stimdärt abilities are difficult to control. It’s tiring and you’re going to have to be under extreme agitation while you train. So….” He paused.
Kala gave him a curious look. “So, what?”
Alsenoth looked distractedly to his side. “So I’m going to have to hit you.”
Kala’s eyes widened. “What!?”
“Yes, err…. See? I told you this wasn’t a great idea!”
“Right. To agitate me you have to hit me? You can’t yell at me or something?”
“That’s not how it works, Kala. And I’m not going to yell at you.”
“But you’ll hit me.”
Alsenoth growled in irritation. “Kala, we can do this another time. I mean you can even just wait until we do your regular sword training, if you want.”
Kala smile. “Ugh! Fine! Hit me, then!” She bent her knees, folded her wings across her back, and stuck her neck forward. A big grin on her face, she tapped her cheek with her left hand. “Come on, Alsey! Right here!”
Alsenoth shook his head, his eyes narrowed. “I’m not going to hit you now, Kala. I’m not dumb enough to just—”
“No, come on! Seriously, hit me!”
“Kala if this is some sort of joke—”
“Hit me!”
Alsenoth threw his fist against Kala’s cheek. She flipped around and snarled, placing her claw against her face. When she turned back around to face Alsenoth, her eyes and pupils were a deep shade of ruby; a clear sign of Stimdärt power. Her cheek was cut from the impact of the punch and blood was trickling down her face.
“What did you do that for?”
Alsenoth was flustered, taken completely off-guard. He widened his eyes in fear—horrified that he had actually hurt his best friend. “But you asked me to hit you! Insisted, if I rightly recollect! Are you okay? I mean, I didn’t mean to hit you that hard!”
He bent down and knelt at her side. She had an angry look on her face. “I know I told you to, but I didn’t think that you’d actually do it; I was trying to prove a point!”
“I’m sorry Kala. I was just trying to help you tap into your Stimdärt abilities.”
Kala sighed. “I know. I’m not mad. I’m just…shocked at how much it hurt.”
Alsenoth raised his brow. “Oh, is that all? I thought you were mad at me?”
“I can be if you’d like,” she pouted with her face and gave Alsenoth the look.
Alsenoth just chuckled. “I’m sorry Kala, but it was either that or cutting you.”
Kala lifted her claw off of her face to reveal her bleeding cheek. She flashed him a sarcastic smile. “Oh we wouldn’t want that now, would we?”
Alsenoth grinned. “No, of course not. But either way it still worked.”
“What do you mean?”
Alsenoth stood up and looked at her. “Well for one thing, your eyes are all ruby—which, might I add, makes you look very pretty,” Kala shifted at this remark, “And secondly, if you look at your claws you’ll see that they’re shining.”
Kala looked down. Alsenoth was right: bright yellow light was swimming lazily around her claws, twinkling in the sun’s rays. She looked up happily to Alsenoth, a giant grin on her face—the same smile that had always reminded him of the sun. “See, Alsey? I told you I wasn’t joking! Now do you believe me?”
Alsenoth smiled; more to himself than to Kala. “I never said that I didn’t believe you, Kala. There’s no way that I could never believe you.”]

Alright. I have been having HORRIBLE writer's block and can barely scrounge a couple of words together for my story, if I am lucky. So, being a person that likes to frequently update, I am in desperate need of an idea to post for my blog. Ideas, ideas, ideas. The problem is...I got nothing. What I have decided to do to satisfy my readers, is take concepts and ideas from viewers on what they think that I should do. Something interactive (maybe doing drawings, contests, etc.). But it's up to you guys to help me. So just comment on this post and let me know what you think. Ask me questions about things in the book. Post ideas. Whatever. Just have fun, and help me post a great post!

Character Names

Many people have been asking on how I get the names that I do for my characters. I have posted many responses and have decided to dedicate a post to the topic. To quote what I have said before:

"The characters are first imaged in my mind, and then I have to figure out whether or not their name needs to sound "soft", "hard", "sly", "sharp", "quiet", or "loud (or a mix of all of the above. For example, Forde needed to have a hard name, but it needed to sharply grab the reader's attention. The "f", "r", and "d" in "Forde" are hard letters, and come off as a blockish sound. His last name, however, has a more sharp sound to it. The "ick" in "Barrick" is cut off abruptly and leaves a nice ring to his name. Often times the names just jump into my head. Wreaknatter, Wapper, Flare, Alsenoth, Kala, Chi-Chi, and Kara all came without any difficulty. Mordin, Sketh, Greilner, and Regalon were all extremely difficult (Sketh especially). Often times I have such a perfect image of who these characters are in my mind that their names never seem adequate enough. It's just really random, but it is ALWAYS fun to make up them names. Also many of the names end up having a deeper meaning (see my Roots post). Alsenoth's name is especially deliberate in its meaning. So, I guess there are just a number of ways on how I get my names."

Obviously there are other ways that I actually form and mold my characters into shape (often I will have a name before an actual fleshed-out character). Just ask me about specific character's names, and I will gladly describe to you the origin of their name!

Bleeding Sun (Book Five)

I have completed the plot outline, in full, for the fifth book. Although this one didn't take me nearly as long as the fourth book's outline, it was by far more difficult. The book is the same BASIC storyline as the fourth book, but told through a different character's perspective. This means that I had to make sure that they seamed together perfectly, and that everything made sense. It was extremely difficult, and I think that this book and the sixth book are my favorites, so I am very proud.

And so here is what I have SO far. I need to color, detail, and more art, etc. (believe me, I know). But how is it so far, eh? Pretty good? Well I love it; drawing Wreaknatter is always difficult because I have this perfect image in my head of who he is, so this took a lot of time and effort. The end of the title got cut off, and the picture appears a bit light for whatever reason, but I did the best that I could. Let me know what you think! ALSO: As a side note, the final product WILL be done professionally; this is JUST A SKETCH!

The First Book's Cover Art

I am currently in the process of drawing the cover art for the first book. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible, but feel that the background needs to be something catching and relevant. So, I am battling between the two ideas of having that background either the Carthraith Deed, or Carthraith Castle itself. Doing the Carthraith Deed would prove difficult given that it is written in a foreign language, but would open up numerous artistic windows for border art and the like.
I feel that Carthraith Castle as a background would just be too overwhelming for the eye, but I still like the idea. Maybe the background will be just shadowy pictures of Forde, Mordin, Trill, Keller, and Lech. I dunno yet. What I do know, however, is that the main focus will be the large picture of Wreaknatter Drudlok in the center. I have already drawn that part. He has his back to the audience, but his head curves so that you can see it at profile. Also a stream of green fire is pillowing out of his hand (you'll learn why when you get deeper into the book) and the top of the page in decorative lettering is obviously the title. I will be posting the image soon, so keep checking back!

A Shadow Foreseen (Book Four)

FINALLY! This plot outline has taken me MONTHS to complete! This is the "start", I guess you could say, of the main part of the series. This book introduces Markus Lumengar, and Alsenoth Ongeller (however the book only follows the story of Markus). The reason that this plot outline in particular was so difficult is because of the structure of the fifth book. The fourth and fifth book happen at the EXACT same time, and tell the same GENERAL story but book four follows Markus whereas book five follows Alsenoth. This book also introduces the critically vital important character Rajax Lacklottle, although he is only in it breifly (he has a bigger role in books five through eight). The outline is finally done, and I can't WAIT to get started on it!

Limetar Rising [A.K.A. "A Problem With Barkus"] (Book Three)

I have ALSO finished completing the plot outline for the third book, Limetar Rising (A Problem with Barkus). The book takes place exactly one year after the second book (whereas the second book takes place fifty years after the first), and introduces Barkus Lumegar as well as Fizzle and Frizzle Hespastus. This book does not include major interference from Wreaknatter. In fact, Wreaknatter is only in the book for the last couple of chapters. The main villain, Xervin Morkstoff, is introduced in the epilogue of the second book. I'll keep you posted!

Wapper And The Spotted Egg (Book Two)

I am proud to announce that I have finally finished typing the FULL plot outline to the second book: Wapper and the Spotted Egg. You will be sure to meet previous characters as well as many new ones. However, let it be known that this still doesn't mark the introduction to Alsenoth Ongeller and Markus Lumengar (Wreaknatter's threats). They are introduced in books five and four, respectively. However this book DOES mark the introduction to the critically important character Chi-Chi MkHitton! I am obviously going to put most of my effort towards the first book, but that won't necessarily stop me from writing a couple of chapters here and there for the second book (writing about a new scene or topic ALWAYS helps overcome writer's block for me). I'll keep you updated!

So in the past couple of days, I have been posting like a mad man deprived of any fun. Clips and pieces of chapters being posted. Notes about music. Character personality quizzes. Even dedications. And not once have I really updated on how far along I am in the first book. Somewhat sad to say, I am only about 80 handwritten pages into the book, 70 typed. However, I have detailed scene-by-scene notes on the plot, and know EXACTLY how everything unfolds in the book. I hope to be able to finish (if I crack down) by either the summer or the end of this year, time permitting. Keep your fingers crossed people! Thanks!

The Best Character...So Far
